This article proposes an interdisciplinary analysis of the Argentine Trans Memory Archive and its work regarding memory, its preservation, and the visibility of historically silenced subjects. To this end, the concept of “archive” is approached from the perspectives of Ariella Azoulay, Ann Cvetkovich, and Michael Foucault, in contrast to Gérard Genette literary studies on paratexts in order to work and signify the materiality of the book and the resistance to oblivion it proposes. Based on this theoretical-methodological framework, a reading of the problems of memory and the community practices that it entails is carried out, since the collective work in the construction of memory reinforces the political identity of trans/travesti groups, since this initiative establishes transgenerational and multidisciplinary guidelines through concrete cultural constructions and productions that generate an impact at the sociopolitical level.
