Editorial Process

The editorial process begins with a pre-evaluation conducted by the EstuDAv Editorial Team to determine the relevance of the article in relation to the journal’s scope.

If the article’s content aligns with the journal’s scope, it moves to the first evaluation stage, which is carried out by two specialists through a double-blind peer review process. These two reviewers must hold a doctoral degree and/or be experts in the relevant field, and must be external to the institution that publishes the journal.

The submission may be:
accepted without modifications,
accepted with minor revisions,
accepted with major revisions,
or rejected.

The Editorial Team will communicate the decisions to the authors within a maximum period of 120 days from the date of submission.

If the article is accepted with revisions, the deadline may be extended up to an additional 120 days to submit the final version, considering the time the author(s) need to prepare the final draft and the Editorial Team’s time to review the revised manuscript.

In case of disagreement between reviewers, a third external reviewer will be consulted, who will have 90 days to resolve acceptance or rejection. In this case, the total review period may extend up to 210 days, considering the extra 90 days for the external review. The final decision in this case rests with the journal’s editor.

Finally, the final validation is completed once the authors upload the corrected version to the OJS platform.
