Peer review

The peer review process begins with a preliminary evaluation by the EstuDAv Editorial Team to determine the relevance of the article to the journal’s scope.

If the article’s content aligns with the journal’s focus, it proceeds to the first stage of evaluation, conducted by two specialists under a double-blind peer review system. These reviewers must hold a doctoral degree and/or be experts in the relevant field, and must be external to the journal’s publishing institution.

The submission may be:

  • Accepted without revisions

  • Accepted with minor revisions

  • Accepted with major revisions

  • Rejected

Normally, the Editorial Team communicates the decisions to the authors within a maximum of 120 days from the date of submission. However, in the event of disagreement between the two reviewers, the opinion of a third external reviewer will be requested. This reviewer will have an additional 90 days beyond the regular review period to determine whether the article should be accepted or rejected. The final decision in such cases rests with the journal’s editor.

Final approval is granted once the authors upload the revised manuscript to the OJS platform.
