Evaluation format
The search for peer reviewers begins once the Editorial Team determines that the article complies with the journal’s policies. This search period lasts between 4 to 6 weeks, which includes 3 to 4 weeks to select and contact a potential reviewer, and 5 to 12 weeks for the review itself to be completed.
The invitation sent to the potential reviewer includes the article’s title, abstract, and the timeframe within which they are expected to accept or decline the review request. If the invitation is accepted, the reviewer receives the anonymized manuscript—without any identifying information about the author(s)—in order to comply with the journal’s double-blind peer review process. Along with the manuscript, the reviewer is also provided with the evaluation criteria form that must be completed, along with their comments and final assessment (minimum of 250 words). This entire process is carried out online via the Open Journal System (OJS).
If a reviewer cannot meet the established deadline for submitting their evaluation form and comments, they must contact the editor before the deadline to agree on a revised timeline.
The article evaluation considers the following aspects:
-
The relevance of the article to the thematic areas covered by the journal.
-
The formal structure and presentation of the article.
-
The substantive content and scholarly quality of the article.
