Abstract

Smart cities are characterized by optimizing the efficiency of resources and services through the analysis of data generated by technological sensors installed in urban spaces. However, their presence and purpose may vary according to the political, technological, and social circumstances of each territory. The objective of this research focuses on a broad comparison of the contexts of the cities of Toronto, Wichita, Chicago, San Diego, Dehradun, and Shanghai, in order to abstract them as information metasystems that adapt to their specific environments through feedback. The methodology was based on an overview of content related to the six smart cities. According to the data, projects focused on transforming cities present objectives geared toward optimizing economic resources, but above all, infrastructure control to ensure certainty through feedback.
