History

Palimpsesto was born in 2004 under the wing of the Department of History of the Universidad de Santiago de Chile, in order to create a space for dissemination, discussion and criticism of its own historiographic constructions, but also to gather the contributions of other academics and intellectuals and incorporate them into an open dialogue space. As of 2016, Palimpsesto moved to a digital format, whose contents are available to the academic community and the general public. At the same time, the journal ceased to belong to the Department of History and is coordinated by the Faculty of Humanities, expanding its contents and incorporating a multidisciplinary perspective that accounts for the diverse perspectives and approaches to Chile and Ibero-America.
