Scope

Palimpsesto. Chilean Journal of Gender Studies aims to provide a space for critical and innovative thought and research that expands its own boundaries, as well as academic debate. It will also be interested in facilitating the connection between academic production and social actors and movements at national and regional levels, and the strengthening of this field of study in Chile as well as in the Americas and the Caribbean. It assumes an ethos and a sexo-politics of knowledge that problematizes and makes visible the strong relationships between knowledge, society and power, and the questioning and transformative power of the category of gender itself, especially when used in articulation with other axes of inequality such as class, age, ethnicity, sexuality, etc. It also aims to contribute to strengthening research practices with territorial and social commitment that question universal and supposedly neutral knowledge in order to make visible the impact of the sexual contract on research, as well as the multiplicity of experiences and practices of power in specific contexts and modalities.
