Virtual Service Learning Experience with Women Heads of Households.

Abstract

The experience systematized in this document corresponds to the implementation of a Service Learning (SL) initiative in virtual modality, developed by the Universidad del Bío-Bío between the years 2021 and 2024, in collaboration with the Women Heads of Households Program in six communes of the regions of Ñuble and Biobío. This proposal arose as a response to the restrictions imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic, which motivated a methodological reconfiguration of the AS to adapt to the distance format.

The implementation strategy was structured through synchronous virtual workshops, personalized counseling and group accompaniment, covering topics such as digital literacy, cybersecurity, financial education, digital marketing, formalization of entrepreneurship and web development. A total of 839 women participated in the workshops, while 110 students from different careers developed their professional practice within the framework of the program. The results show a high impact both in terms of student training and in strengthening the personal and work skills of the participants.
