Publication ethics

Ethical Guidelines for Publication:

  • Truthfulness of Authorship: Authors must include the names of all individuals who meet the criteria for authorship and contribution, avoiding the inclusion of persons who had little or no participation in the research.
  • Originality of the Manuscript: The manuscript submitted must not have been previously published nor be publicly available in any digital or printed medium.
  • Avoidance of Simultaneous Submission: The manuscript must not be under consideration for publication by another journal simultaneously.
  • Avoidance of Fictitious Data: Authors must not use fictitious data, presenting only results that are direct and genuine outcomes of the research.
  • Data Integrity: Data must not be manipulated to force hypothesis confirmation or to fit the study’s objectives.
  • Avoidance of Fragmented Publication: Studies must not be divided into multiple parts (fragmented publication) solely to increase the number of independent manuscripts published in different journals.
  • Prevention of Plagiarism: Texts, sections, ideas, methods, or other information from other sources must be properly cited to avoid plagiarism.
  • Avoidance of Data Maximization: Authors must not exaggerate or positively skew data to give the study greater relevance.
  • Complete Presentation of Background: Authors must present supporting and contradicting evidence for their findings, not only positive results, to avoid bias.
  • Disclosure of Conflicts of Interest: Authors must inform the editor if they have any conflicts of interest that could influence the research and publication.
  • Obtaining Reproduction Permissions: Authors are responsible for securing permissions for the full or partial reproduction of material used in the manuscript that is not in the public domain or does not have appropriate usage licenses.

Responsibility of the Corresponding Author: The corresponding author is responsible for all communication, management, and publication processes with the journal and acts as the liaison between EstuDAv and the co-authors.
